Construction Leader Bowmer & Kirkland Adopts Egnyte Globally
Since joining Egnyte back in August, I have focused on meeting with our customers and prospects across a variety of industries to better understand their unique pain points and show how Egnyte can effectively meet their specific needs within each industry. One of the verticals where we’ve seen increased adoption is Construction, and we have placed a strong focus and commitment to this industry with the signing of new partners and adding features across our suite of services based on our customers’ and the industry’s requirements. As a result of our continued efforts, I’m happy to announce that Bowmer and Kirkland, a U.K.-based construction and development group, recently adopted Egnyte across the company’s 26 subsidiaries for more than 1,300 staff members in North America and EMEA.The firm chose Egnyte to solve some of its most pressing challenges for both IT and its users, including:
- Streamlining processes to adhere to the new realities of shortened project deadlines
- Overcoming security, mobility and bandwidth issues
- Reducing costs, specifically around printing numerous paper versions of project files
- Enforcing strict version controls to maintain one version of truth
With Egnyte, Bowmer and Kirkland’s IT team can quickly grant or restrict access to project files, while teams are working on a remote jobsite or at the corporate office, eliminating security and privacy concerns. Teams of project managers, contractors and subcontractors can easily review and edit large CAD and BIM files from any device, without wasting time and money by printing or managing document versioning issues, or worrying about Internet availability or bandwidth constraints. Egnyte is enabling them to streamline business processes to face the tight project deadlines and changing requirements of this industry.Kevin McDonald, Head of IT at Bowmer and Kirkland, said: “Egnyte’s hybrid deployment provides everything our business needs; it’s easy to use, secure, and allows us to deliver high-quality projects quicker than before at a competitive cost. It has become the cornerstone of our new IT strategy.”Bowmer & Kirkland joins the fast-growing roster of architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) companies that have chosen Egnyte for their hybrid file services needs. A few of these companies include: Adolfson & Peterson, Balfour Beatty, Casey Industrial, Devcon, and PC Construction. For more information, see the full Bowmer & Kirkland case study here, along with other customer success stories also in construction and across different industries.
